Mutta Roast (kodava Style Egg Roast)
Mutta Roast, also known as Kodava Style Egg Roast, is a popular dish from the Kodava Cuisine of Karnataka, India. This flavorful and spicy egg roast is a perfect accompaniment to steamed rice or roti.
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Boil the eggs, peel, and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Now, add the tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
- Add the red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
- Gently add the boiled eggs to the masala and coat them evenly.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the masala coats the eggs well.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
