Mutton Sukka
Mutton Sukka is a traditional dish from Mangalurean Catholic Cuisine that is known for its rich and aromatic flavors. This dry mutton dish is a perfect blend of spices and tender meat, making it a popular choice for special occasions and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 500g mutton, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup grated coconut
- 1/4 cup coriander leaves, chopped
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp red chili powder
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
- Now, add the tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
- Add the mutton pieces, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the mutton is tender.
- Once the mutton is cooked, add the grated coconut and garam masala. Cook for a few more minutes until the mixture is dry.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
