Muya Aloo Bai is a traditional chicken and potato curry from Tripuri Cuisine, known for its rich and aromatic flavors. This dish is a perfect blend of spices and tender chicken, making it a comforting and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 3 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add the ginger and garlic, and cook for a few minutes.
- Next, add the chicken pieces and cook until they turn golden.
- Now, add the tomato puree, green chilies, and all the spices. Cook for 10-15 minutes.
- Add the cubed potatoes and cook until the chicken and potatoes are tender.
- Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
