Muya Khum Bai (chicken And Mushroom Curry)
Muya Khum Bai is a traditional chicken and mushroom curry dish from Tripuri Cuisine, known for its rich and aromatic flavors.
Ingredients
- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 200g mushrooms, sliced
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add ginger and garlic paste, and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in the tomato puree, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 10 minutes.
- Add the mushrooms, green chilies, and garam masala. Cook for another 10 minutes or until the chicken is tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
