Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the warm water and yogurt to the dry ingredients, and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
  6. Roll out each ball of dough into a teardrop shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and brush the naan with melted butter.
  8. Cook the naan for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and puffed up.
  9. Remove from the pan and brush with more melted butter before serving.
