Ingredients

  • 500g pork, cut into cubes
  • 3 tbsp akhuni (fermented soybean)
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3-4 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Heat mustard oil in a pan and add the chopped onions. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
  2. Add the pork cubes and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  3. Add the grated ginger, green chilies, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Dissolve the akhuni in a little water and add it to the pork. Stir to combine.
  5. Add water to cover the pork, cover the pan, and simmer for 1 hour or until the pork is tender.
  6. Once the pork is cooked, remove the lid and cook until the gravy thickens.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice.
