Nagoya Cochin Sukiyaki is a delicious and hearty Japanese hot pot dish that features the famous Nagoya Cochin chicken. This recipe combines the rich flavors of the Nagoya Cochin chicken with a savory and sweet sukiyaki broth, creating a comforting and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 400g Nagoya Cochin chicken, thinly sliced
- 200g firm tofu, cut into cubes
- 150g shirataki noodles, rinsed and drained
- 1 bunch of green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1/2 Napa cabbage, sliced
- 4 shiitake mushrooms, sliced
- 200g enoki mushrooms, separated
- 200g shimeji mushrooms, separated
- 200g konnyaku, sliced
- 200g udon noodles
- 4 eggs
- 500ml sukiyaki broth
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 4 tbsp mirin
- 4 tbsp sugar
Instructions
- Prepare the sukiyaki broth by combining the sukiyaki broth, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar in a pot. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add the Nagoya Cochin chicken slices to the broth and cook until they are no longer pink.
- Add the firm tofu, shirataki noodles, green onions, Napa cabbage, shiitake mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, shimeji mushrooms, and konnyaku to the pot. Cook for a few minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- In a separate pot, cook the udon noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Crack an egg into each serving bowl.
- Divide the cooked udon noodles among the serving bowls.
- Ladle the hot sukiyaki broth and ingredients over the noodles and eggs in each bowl.
- Serve the Nagoya Cochin Sukiyaki hot and enjoy!
