Ingredients
- 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 3 tbsp white miso paste
- 2 tbsp mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cut the tofu into 8 equal pieces and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the miso paste, mirin, sugar, and soy sauce to make the miso glaze.
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease the surface.
- Place the tofu pieces in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Brush the miso glaze over the tofu pieces and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes on each side, allowing the glaze to caramelize.
- Transfer the grilled tofu to a serving plate, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve hot.
