Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked Japanese short-grain rice
- 3 tablespoons white miso paste
- 1 tablespoon mirin
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Nori seaweed sheets, cut into small strips for wrapping
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the miso paste, mirin, and sugar until well combined.
- Take a small handful of cooked rice and flatten it in the palm of your hand.
- Place a small amount of the miso mixture in the center of the rice and fold the rice around the filling, shaping it into a triangle or round ball.
- Wrap the rice ball with a strip of nori seaweed.
- Repeat the process with the remaining rice and miso mixture.
- Serve the miso onigiri at room temperature or slightly warm.
