Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup white miso paste
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Soy sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour and water to form a dough. Knead the dough for 5 minutes, then cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, combine the miso paste, green onions, mushrooms, and cabbage to make the filling.
  3. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and flatten each portion into a small circle.
  4. Place a spoonful of the miso filling in the center of each circle, then seal the edges to form dumplings.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  6. Serve the miso oyaki hot with soy sauce for dipping.
