Ingredients

  • 1 kg fresh crab, cleaned and cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for a few minutes until the raw smell disappears.
  3. Now, add the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
  4. Stir in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Cook for a couple of minutes.
  5. Add the crab pieces to the pan and mix well with the masala. Cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Pour in the coconut milk and season with salt. Cover the pan and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the crab is cooked through.
  7. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
