Nanuq Paw Brownies (polar Bear Paw Brownies)
Nanuq Paw Brownies, also known as Polar Bear Paw Brownies, are a delicious and indulgent treat inspired by the Chukchi Cuisine of the Arctic. These fudgy brownies are topped with a layer of creamy coconut and almonds, resembling the paw of the mighty Nanuq, or polar bear.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Stir in the cocoa powder and salt until well combined.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then gently fold in the flour until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the shredded coconut and sliced almonds over the top of the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
