Nasi Goreng Kunyit (turmeric Fried Rice)
Nasi Goreng Kunyit, or Turmeric Fried Rice, is a popular dish in Banjar Cuisine. It is a flavorful and aromatic fried rice dish that is commonly enjoyed as a main course.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked white rice
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, bell peppers)
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat.
- Add beaten eggs and scramble until cooked. Remove from the wok and set aside.
- Heat the remaining oil in the wok. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
- Stir in turmeric powder, salt, and sugar. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the cooked rice and mixed vegetables. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
- Return the scrambled eggs to the wok and mix well with the rice.
- Drizzle soy sauce over the rice and continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve the Nasi Goreng Kunyit hot.
