Nasi Goreng (malaysian-style Nasi Goreng)
Nasi Goreng is a popular Malaysian-style fried rice dish that is packed with flavor and is perfect for a quick and delicious meal.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked jasmine rice, cooled
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 red chili, thinly sliced
- 200g chicken breast, diced
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
- 1 teaspoon shrimp paste
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, bell peppers)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan over high heat.
- Add the garlic, onion, and red chili, and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
- Add the diced chicken and cook until it's no longer pink.
- Push the chicken to one side of the wok, then pour the beaten eggs onto the other side. Scramble the eggs until set, then mix with the chicken.
- Add the remaining vegetable oil, then add the cooked rice, soy sauce, kecap manis, and shrimp paste. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
- Add the mixed vegetables and continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the Nasi Goreng hot and enjoy!
