Nasi Goreng Masala (masala Fried Rice)
Nasi Goreng Masala, also known as Masala Fried Rice, is a fusion dish that combines the flavors of Indonesian and Indian cuisine. This aromatic and spicy fried rice is a popular street food in Indonesia and is perfect for a quick and flavorful meal.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked white rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red chili, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, bell peppers)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
- Add the red chili, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder. Cook for 2-3 minutes to toast the spices.
- Add the mixed vegetables and cook until they are tender.
- Add the cooked rice and soy sauce to the pan. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the rice is heated through and well combined with the spices and vegetables, remove from heat.
- Serve the Nasi Goreng Masala hot, garnished with fresh cilantro and a wedge of lime.
