Nasi Grombyang Love
Nasi Grombyang Love is a traditional Javanese dish that is known for its flavorful and aromatic rice. This dish is a perfect blend of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
Ingredients
- 2 cups jasmine rice
- 4 cups water
- 1 lemongrass stalk, bruised
- 4 kaffir lime leaves
- 200g chicken, diced
- 200g tempeh, sliced
- 4 shallots, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 red chilies, sliced
- 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon tamarind paste
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Rinse the jasmine rice until the water runs clear, then drain.
- In a large pot, combine the rice, water, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
- While the rice is cooking, heat oil in a pan and fry the shallots and garlic until fragrant.
- Add the chicken and tempeh to the pan and cook until they are golden brown.
- Stir in the sweet soy sauce, tamarind paste, and salt. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and remove the lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves.
- Serve the rice with the chicken and tempeh mixture on top. Garnish with sliced red chilies.
