Ingredients

  • 2 cups jasmine rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground turmeric
  • 1 pandan leaf, tied into a knot
  • 1 lemongrass, bruised
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the jasmine rice until the water runs clear, then drain.
  2. In a pot, combine the rice, water, ground turmeric, pandan leaf, lemongrass, and salt.
  3. Cook the rice over medium heat until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Fluff the rice with a fork and remove the pandan leaf and lemongrass before serving.
