Nasi Pecel Fiesta
Nasi Pecel Fiesta is a traditional Javanese dish that features a flavorful peanut sauce served over a bed of steamed rice, accompanied by a variety of fresh vegetables and crispy fried tempeh. Ingredients
- 2 cups of steamed rice
- 1 cup of fresh bean sprouts
- 1 cup of water spinach (kangkung)
- 1 cup of long beans, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1 block of tempeh, sliced into thin strips
- 1 cup of peanut butter
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 red chilies, chopped
- 1 tablespoon of tamarind paste
- 1 tablespoon of palm sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 4 cups of water
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the peanut butter, garlic, red chilies, tamarind paste, palm sugar, salt, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens. Set aside.
- In a separate pan, fry the tempeh until golden and crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Blanch the bean sprouts, water spinach, and long beans in boiling water for 1-2 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- To serve, place a portion of steamed rice on a plate, arrange the blanched vegetables and fried tempeh on top, and drizzle with the peanut sauce.
