Nasi Rawon Magic
Nasi Rawon Magic is a traditional Javanese black beef soup served with steamed rice. The rich and flavorful broth is made with a blend of aromatic spices and herbs, resulting in a magical dining experience.
Ingredients
- 500g beef, cut into cubes
- 2 stalks lemongrass, bruised
- 5 kaffir lime leaves
- 3 bay leaves
- 4 tablespoons rawon paste
- 2 teaspoons tamarind paste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 liters water
- 4 cups steamed rice
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil.
- Add the beef, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and bay leaves. Simmer for 1.5 hours until the beef is tender.
- Stir in the rawon paste, tamarind paste, salt, and sugar. Simmer for another 30 minutes.
- Divide the steamed rice into serving bowls and ladle the hot rawon soup over the rice.
