Nauruan Beef Stir-fry

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, carrots)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add mixed vegetables to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and vegetables.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve the Nauruan Beef Stir-Fry hot over steamed rice.
