New Zealand Kiwi Fruit Pavlova
This New Zealand Kiwi Fruit Pavlova is a delicious and iconic dessert that originated in Oceanic cuisine. The crispy meringue base topped with whipped cream and fresh kiwi fruit makes for a perfect combination of textures and flavors.
Ingredients
- 6 egg whites
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 kiwi fruits, peeled and sliced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the sugar, cornstarch, vinegar, and vanilla extract. Continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
- Pile the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet, forming a circle. Create a slight indentation in the center.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. Turn off the oven and let the meringue cool completely inside the oven.
- Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Spread the whipped cream over the cooled meringue.
- Arrange the sliced kiwi fruits on top of the whipped cream.
- Serve and enjoy!
