Ingredients
- 500g fish, cut into pieces
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 2 tbsp tamarind paste
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
- Add ginger and garlic paste, and cook for a few minutes.
- Now, add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the grated coconut and tamarind paste, and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the fish pieces and gently mix with the masala. Cook for 10-15 minutes until the fish is tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice.
