Nkui Nkui Goat (spicy Goat Meat Stew)
Nkui Nkui Goat, also known as Spicy Goat Meat Stew, is a traditional Cameroonian dish that is rich in flavor and spices. This hearty stew is perfect for a comforting meal, especially during colder months.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs goat meat, cut into chunks
- 2 onions, chopped
- 3 tomatoes, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2 scotch bonnet peppers, chopped
- 1 tsp ground crayfish
- 1 tsp ground white pepper
- 1/2 cup palm oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Season the goat meat with salt and set aside for 10 minutes.
- In a large pot, heat the palm oil over medium heat.
- Add the onions, garlic, ginger, and scotch bonnet peppers. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
- Add the goat meat to the pot and brown on all sides.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, ground crayfish, and white pepper.
- Pour in enough water to cover the meat, then cover the pot and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the meat is tender.
- Adjust the seasoning with salt if needed.
- Serve the Nkui Nkui Goat hot with a side of boiled plantains or rice.
