Nomadic Kymyz Soup (Кымыз)
Kymyz, also known as fermented mare's milk, is a traditional drink of the nomadic people of Central Asia. In this recipe, we will use kymyz as a base to create a unique and flavorful soup that is perfect for cold winter days.
Ingredients
- 1 liter kymyz
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 potatoes, cubed
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh dill
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring the kymyz to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion, diced carrots, and cubed potatoes to the pot.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the chopped dill and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and let the soup cool slightly before serving.
