Nonya Kueh Carnival
Nonya Kueh Carnival is a delightful assortment of traditional Peranakan desserts that are popular in Singapore. These colorful and flavorful treats are perfect for any festive occasion or as a sweet indulgence.
Ingredients
- 200g glutinous rice flour
- 150g palm sugar
- 200ml coconut milk
- 1 pandan leaf
- 100g grated coconut
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the glutinous rice flour, palm sugar, coconut milk, and pandan leaf. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased pan and steam for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, mix the grated coconut with salt and steam for 5 minutes.
- Once the rice cake is cooked, sprinkle the steamed grated coconut on top.
- Let it cool before cutting into pieces and serving.
