Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs (700g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup (120ml) soy sauce
- 1/4 cup (60ml) brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, grated
- 2 tbsp (30ml) sesame oil
- 2 tbsp (30ml) rice wine (or mirin)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp (15ml) toasted sesame seeds
- 1 pear, grated (optional, for natural sweetness)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, grated onion, sesame oil, rice wine, and black pepper to make the marinade.
- Add the sliced beef to the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).
- Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until fully cooked.
- Garnish with green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
