Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp (30ml) sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) rice wine (or mirin)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 pear, grated (optional, for natural sweetness)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, grated onion, sesame oil, rice wine, and black pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Add the sliced beef to the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).
  3. Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until fully cooked.
  4. Garnish with green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
