Nougat Candy

Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, or hazelnuts)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the sugar and honey. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 280°F on a candy thermometer.
- While the sugar mixture is cooking, beat the egg whites with salt until stiff peaks form.
- Once the sugar mixture reaches the right temperature, slowly pour it into the egg whites while beating continuously.
- Add the vanilla extract and continue to beat until the mixture becomes thick and glossy.
- Stir in the chopped nuts until evenly distributed.
- Transfer the nougat mixture to a parchment-lined pan and let it cool completely before cutting into pieces.
