Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked ziti, meat sauce, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Mix well.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
