Nut-free Baked Ziti

Ingredients
- 1 pound ziti pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked ziti, meat sauce, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
