Nut Roll
Nut roll is a delicious pastry filled with a sweet and nutty filling, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or almonds)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour and cold butter. Use a pastry cutter or fork to mix until crumbly.
- Add cold water and mix until the dough comes together. Shape into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the chopped nuts, sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the filling.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread the nut filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll up the dough tightly, jelly-roll style, and place seam side down on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before slicing and serving.
