Ingredients
- 2 lbs ripe guavas, washed and chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, combine the chopped guavas, sugar, and water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until the guavas have softened and the mixture has thickened.
- Stir in the freshly grated nutmeg and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove the jam from the heat and let it cool slightly.
- Transfer the jam to sterilized jars and let it cool completely before sealing.
