Oazis Goyun Kebab (oasis Lamb Kebabs)
Oazis Goyun Kebab, or Oasis Lamb Kebabs, is a traditional dish from Turkmen Cuisine that is bursting with flavor and perfect for grilling season.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs lamb, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 metal or soaked wooden skewers
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the chopped onion, minced garlic, olive oil, yogurt, cumin, paprika, black pepper, and salt.
- Add the lamb cubes to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated lamb cubes onto the skewers.
- Grill the kebabs for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Remove the kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
