Ingredients

  • 1 lb octopus, cleaned and chopped
  • 1 lb chicken thighs, bone-in
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 cups water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot over medium heat and add the octopus and chicken. Cook until browned on all sides, then remove from the pot and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add the diced onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
  3. Add the turmeric, cumin, and paprika to the pot and stir to combine with the onions.
  4. Pour in the coconut milk and water, then return the octopus and chicken to the pot. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cover the pot and simmer for 1 hour, or until the octopus and chicken are tender.
  6. Serve the feke moa hot with steamed rice or root vegetables.
