Охридска шаран на жар (Ohrid Style Grilled Carp) is a traditional Macedonian dish that showcases the delicious flavors of the region's freshwater fish.
Ingredients
- 1 whole carp, cleaned and scaled
- 2 lemons, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Make 3-4 diagonal cuts on each side of the carp and season with salt and pepper.
- Stuff the cavity of the carp with sliced lemons and minced garlic.
- Brush the carp with olive oil and place it on the grill.
- Grill for 6-8 minutes on each side or until the fish is cooked through and has a nice char.
- Remove from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
