Omani Shuwa (Slow-Cooked Lamb)

Ingredients

  • 5 lbs lamb shoulder, bone-in
  • 10 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbsp ground coriander
  • 2 tbsp ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp ground turmeric
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Rub the lamb shoulder with crushed garlic, ground coriander, cumin, black pepper, turmeric, and salt, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  2. Place the lamb in a large slow cooker and add water.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the lamb is tender and falls off the bone.
  4. Once cooked, remove the lamb from the slow cooker and shred the meat using two forks.
  5. Serve the Slow-Cooked Lamb hot with rice or flatbread.
