Slow-Cooked Lamb, also known as Omani Shuwa, is a traditional dish from Eastern Arabian cuisine that is cooked slowly to perfection, resulting in tender and flavorful meat.
Ingredients
- 5 lbs lamb shoulder, bone-in
- 10 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 tbsp ground coriander
- 2 tbsp ground cumin
- 2 tbsp ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp ground turmeric
- 2 tbsp salt
- 4 cups water
Instructions
- Rub the lamb shoulder with crushed garlic, ground coriander, cumin, black pepper, turmeric, and salt, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- Place the lamb in a large slow cooker and add water.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the lamb is tender and falls off the bone.
- Once cooked, remove the lamb from the slow cooker and shred the meat using two forks.
- Serve the Slow-Cooked Lamb hot with rice or flatbread.
