Ingredients
- 6 cups sliced apples
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples, 1 cup of sugar, cinnamon, salt, and 1/4 cup of flour. Pour the mixture into a 9-inch pie dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the beaten egg. Spread this mixture over the apples in the pie dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
