Ondeh Ondeh is a popular traditional dessert in Singapore, made with pandan-flavored glutinous rice balls filled with palm sugar and coated in grated coconut. This recipe takes the classic Ondeh Ondeh to the next level with an extravagant twist!

Ondeh Ondeh Extravaganza

Ingredients

  • 200g glutinous rice flour
  • 150ml pandan juice
  • 100g palm sugar (gula melaka), chopped into small cubes
  • 100g grated coconut, steamed
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the glutinous rice flour with pandan juice to form a smooth dough.
  2. Pinch off small pieces of dough and flatten them. Place a cube of palm sugar in the center and roll into balls.
  3. Boil a pot of water and cook the rice balls until they float, then remove and drain.
  4. Roll the cooked rice balls in the steamed grated coconut mixed with salt.
  5. Serve and enjoy!
