Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
- Add the sliced onions to the skillet and cook over medium heat until caramelized, about 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, butter, and sour cream to form a dough. Press the dough into the bottom of a greased 9-inch pie dish.
- Sprinkle the cooked bacon over the dough.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Pour this mixture over the bacon and onions.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
- Let the onion cake cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
