Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3-4 green chilies
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 4-5 garlic cloves
- 1/2 cup grated coconut
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and coriander seeds. Sauté until they splutter.
- Add chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, and garlic. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
- Add grated coconut, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the mixture from the pan and allow it to cool. Once cooled, blend it into a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a separate pan and add the chicken pieces. Cook until they are slightly browned.
- Add the onion chutney paste to the chicken and mix well. Cook for 10-15 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and the flavors are well combined.
- Serve hot with rice or roti.
