Ingredients

  • 250g onion stalks, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 3 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil

Instructions

  1. In a blender, grind the poppy seeds into a fine paste.
  2. Heat mustard oil in a pan and add the onion stalks. Sauté for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the ground poppy seed paste, green chilies, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Pour water into the pan and cover it. Let it cook for 15-20 minutes on low heat.
  5. Once the onion stalks are tender and the paste has thickened, remove from heat.
