Ingredients
- 4 large oranges, zest and juice
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, combine the orange zest and sugar. Mix well to release the oils from the zest.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually add the orange juice and vegetable oil while mixing continuously.
- Sift the flour and baking powder into the wet mixture. Gently fold until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar before serving.
