Orange Tart (tarta De Naranja)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into cubes
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a food processor, combine the flour, powdered sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add 1 egg and pulse until the dough comes together.
  4. Press the dough into a 9-inch tart pan, covering the bottom and sides. Prick the bottom with a fork and chill for 15 minutes.
  5. Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let it cool completely.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together the remaining egg, granulated sugar, orange juice, and orange zest. Pour the mixture into the cooled crust.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set. Let it cool completely.
  8. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Spread the whipped cream over the cooled tart.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
