Orange Tofu (橙汁豆腐)

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, drained and cut into cubes
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Then, pour in the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, orange zest, and red pepper flakes. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  4. Return the tofu to the skillet and toss to coat with the orange sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and the tofu is heated through.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
