Ingredients
- 500g organ meats (liver, heart, kidney), diced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 500g store-bought puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, sauté the diced organ meats over medium heat until browned.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
- Season the mixture with ground cumin, salt, and pepper, then remove from heat and let it cool.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into squares or rectangles, depending on your preference.
- Place a spoonful of the cooled organ meat mixture onto each piece of pastry, then fold and seal the edges to form individual pies.
- Brush the tops of the pies with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake the pies for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden and flaky.
- Remove from the oven and let the pies cool slightly before serving.
