Ingredients

  • 500g organ meats (liver, heart, kidney), diced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 500g store-bought puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, sauté the diced organ meats over medium heat until browned.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
  3. Season the mixture with ground cumin, salt, and pepper, then remove from heat and let it cool.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into squares or rectangles, depending on your preference.
  6. Place a spoonful of the cooled organ meat mixture onto each piece of pastry, then fold and seal the edges to form individual pies.
  7. Brush the tops of the pies with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake the pies for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden and flaky.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the pies cool slightly before serving.
