Ingredients
- 2 cups pre-cooked cornmeal (masarepa)
- 2 1/2 cups water
- Salt to taste
- 1 pound flank steak, cooked and shredded

- 2 ripe plantains, sliced and fried
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the pre-cooked cornmeal with water and salt to form a smooth dough.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape them into round patties.
- Cook the cornmeal patties on a hot griddle or skillet until golden brown on both sides.
- Once the arepas are cooked, slice them in half to create a pocket for the filling.
