Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a small bowl, soak the raisins in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain.
- Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle.
- In another bowl, mix the sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter to form a paste.
- Spread the butter mixture over the puff pastry, then sprinkle the raisins on top.
- Roll the pastry into a log, then slice it into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with beaten egg, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- While the pain au raisin is baking, mix the powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze.
- Once the pastries are done, drizzle the glaze over the top and let them cool before serving.
