Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, soak the raisins in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle.
  4. In another bowl, mix the sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter to form a paste.
  5. Spread the butter mixture over the puff pastry, then sprinkle the raisins on top.
  6. Roll the pastry into a log, then slice it into 12 equal pieces.
  7. Place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with beaten egg, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. While the pain au raisin is baking, mix the powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze.
  9. Once the pastries are done, drizzle the glaze over the top and let them cool before serving.
