Ingredients

  • 2 cups spinach (palak), finely chopped
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, oil, and salt. Gradually add water and knead into a firm dough. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Roll out the dough into a thin sheet and cut it into small diamond-shaped pieces to make the dhokli.
  3. In a deep pan, heat oil and add the cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped spinach and sauté for a few minutes.
  4. Add water to the spinach and bring it to a boil. Then, gently drop the prepared dhokli into the boiling spinach mixture.
  5. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until the dhokli is cooked through and the flavors are well combined.
  6. Palak Dhokli Delicacy is ready to be served hot.
