Palak Dhokli Delicacy is a traditional Gujarati dish that combines the goodness of spinach (palak) with the comfort of dhokli, a type of Indian pasta. This wholesome and flavorful dish is perfect for a hearty meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cups spinach (palak), finely chopped
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, oil, and salt. Gradually add water and knead into a firm dough. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Roll out the dough into a thin sheet and cut it into small diamond-shaped pieces to make the dhokli.
- In a deep pan, heat oil and add the cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped spinach and sauté for a few minutes.
- Add water to the spinach and bring it to a boil. Then, gently drop the prepared dhokli into the boiling spinach mixture.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes or until the dhokli is cooked through and the flavors are well combined.
- Palak Dhokli Delicacy is ready to be served hot.
