Paleo Lemon Herb Roasted Turkey
This Paleo Lemon Herb Roasted Turkey recipe is a delicious and healthy option for your holiday feast. The combination of fresh herbs and zesty lemon infuses the turkey with amazing flavor, while keeping it gluten-free and dairy-free.
Ingredients
- 1 whole turkey, about 12 pounds
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
- 2 lemons, zested and juiced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Rinse the turkey and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic, herbs, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Gently loosen the skin from the turkey breast and rub half of the herb mixture under the skin.
- Rub the remaining herb mixture over the outside of the turkey.
- Place the turkey on a rack in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for about 3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving and serving.
