Ingredients
- 2 cups dried chickpeas, soaked overnight
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable oil for greasing
Instructions
- Drain the soaked chickpeas and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking soda, and salt. Pulse until the mixture is finely ground.
- Preheat the waffle iron and lightly grease it with vegetable oil.
- Spoon the falafel mixture onto the waffle iron and spread it evenly. Close the waffle iron and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the waffles are golden and crispy.
- Repeat with the remaining falafel mixture.
- Serve the Palestinian Falafel Waffles hot with tahini sauce, hummus, or your favorite toppings.
