Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Beat the eggs and vanilla extract into the yeast mixture, then pour it into the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and knead in the raisins. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape them into rounds. Place them on a baking sheet, cover, and let them rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the pan dulce cool, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
