Ingredients

  • 1 cup sweet potato, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup taro, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 pandan leaf, tied into a knot
  • 1/2 cup sago pearls
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a pot, bring the water to a boil. Add the sweet potato, taro, and pandan leaf. Simmer for 15 minutes until the sweet potato and taro are tender.
  2. Add the sago pearls and cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Pour in the coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Stir well and let it simmer for another 10 minutes.
  4. Remove the pandan leaf and discard.
  5. Divide the dessert soup into serving bowls and serve hot or cold.
